Greater Houston Education Collaboration (GHEC) is a community-based organization who focuses on an effort to get out of our "silos," to discuss collaboration opportunities amongst Houston's higher education and K12 institutes; or to simply share unique technology projects happening on various campuses.

2009 is an exciting year for the GHEC, as we are engaging in mobile learning solutions initiatives (see Houston Community College: Mobile Learning Video below) and enhancing our collaboration efforts with our, soon to launch, International Consortium of Collaboration Through Technology (ICCTT).

mLearning Symposium: Friday, April 17, 9am - 1pm Houston Community College Southeast

HCC SE concluded a successful mlearning pilot supported by the Chancellor's Innovation Grant. The Symposium will provide an instructor's guide to understanding mlearning through interaction in the classroom and hybrid learning model. A look ahead to enhancing the learning experience beyond the traditional classroom, anytime and anywhere. Panel discussion to explore interdisciplinary and institutional collaborative opportunity.

Houston Community College: Mobile Learning

In the Fall 2008, HCC and GHEC engaged in a collaboration to participate in the Chancellor's Innovation Grant through an mLearning initiative via the iPhone. Professor Lifang Tien and Roger Boston at the Southeast campus, were award the $100K grant and have launched a successful pilot with 30 students. Learn more...
